As a therapist, my goal is to support children and their families in increasing connection and joy, building upon strengths, and processing emotions and experiences to create positive changes in their lives. I believe that we all have the internal wisdom to know what we need and naturally move toward growth and healing, and at the same time we sometimes need a little extra support to reach it.
Play therapy offers children an opportunity to express their needs and emotions in the way that comes most naturally to them, through the metaphors of play. In some cases, overwhelming experiences or unprocessed feelings can cause emotions and reactions to get “stuck,” and play therapy provides children a space to fully process these emotions thereby allowing them to heal.
I am honored to walk alongside and support all types of families in their journeys. Parenting doesn’t come with a handbook, and what works for one child may not work for another, so I am here to support parents in both recognizing their strengths and noting areas where they may benefit from new ideas. My approach is collaborative, working together with families to identify what will work best for their situation.
I strive to ensure all of the children and families I work with to feel heard, known and valued as individuals, and hopeful about the positive changes we will work together to build.
