Filial Play Therapy Training
Sometimes a child really needs his or her parent in the room with them while they are doing their therapy work. Filial Play Therapy is a specific form of play therapy developed by Louise and Bernard Guerney in the late 1960s. Sara and Missy offer a training for professionals which focuses on several different approaches to Filial Therapy. This training helps equip therapists to aid in the development and healing of the parent child relationship, as well as helps equip therapists to guide parents in being an integral and active part of their child’s healing process.

Special Topics in Somatic Experiential Play Therapy
Missy and Sara offer multiple workshops intended to help play therapists develop skills in understanding and recognizing the mind-body connection, and how to support responses in children that have not been able to complete in the fight/flight/freeze cycle using foundational pieces from their modality, Somatic Experiential Play Therapy. Professionals will learn how to recognize fight/flight/freeze in children’s play, how to support it, and how to facilitate a release of the trapped survival energy.
